OUR TRIUMPH

The Battle of Bennington, 1777.

What was it really like to be there?

In the summer of 1777, British forces advancing south from Canada threaten the farms and villages of western New England. Short of supplies, they send a German-led force to seize stores at Bennington, Vermont.

Seventeen-year-old Levi Brown leaves his family’s farm in Shaftsbury to march with his local militia company. He has never experienced battle and has little idea what awaits him.

Join Levi as he answers the call to muster, endures a rain-soaked encampment, accompanies scouts on a dangerous reconnaissance mission, and confronts the enemy in desperate fighting. Experience the confusion and terror of battle as Levi does.

He cannot see the entire battlefield or know what the generals are planning. He knows only what he sees and hears, minute by minute.

Through Levi’s eyes, readers experience seventy-two hours in August 1777 that culminate in one of the American Revolution’s most important victories.

Our Triumph is a carefully researched, richly illustrated historical novel grounded in the actual events of the Battle of Bennington.
